Threshold markets
Crypto markets usually ask a threshold question: "Will BTC be above $X on date Y?" The Yes price tracks the (roughly) option-implied probability of that level — a readable, capped-risk way to trade a price view.
Compared to leverage trading
A perp position can liquidate you on a wick. A prediction position can only lose your stake, and its payout is fixed up front. You’re trading the destination, not the path.
Practical edge
These markets are most mispriced during volatility spikes, when prices lag spot moves. Keep the live chart open next to spot and you’ll see the lag yourself.
